United Way of Northeastern Minnesota's United for Veterans Program is proud to share the Veterans Connections program to improve overall wellbeing while building community for veterans and service members in northeastern Minnesota!

Where: Biwabik Pavilion (100 5th Ave N, Biwabik, MN 55708)
Details: Local veterans, service members, and family members gathered for a fun night playing Bingo and enjoying veteran-owned Biwabik Pizza Co. pizza!
When: June 8, 2025 (Tour begins promptly at 2 p.m. Optional lunch served prior to tour.)
Where: Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park (1302 McKinley Park Rd, Soudan, MN 55782)
Details: Local veterans, service members, and family members toured the underground mine park.
When: August 5, 2025 (NOTE NEW DATE! Gates Open 5 pm; Presentation of Colors 6:30 pm; Racing Begins 7 pm)
Where: Hibbing Raceway
Details: This activity was rescheduled due to weather. Local veterans and servicemembers received a wristband for free entry + a meal certificate. All family members were required to pay for a regular priced admission. Kids 12 & under are free.
When: August 15, 2025 (Must check in by 5:30 p.m. Tour departs at 6 p.m.)
Where: Voyageurs National Park (International Falls)
Details: Local veterans, service members, and family members (must be 18+) are invited to join United for Veterans on a boat tour.
Registration: This event has filled! If you registered and are unable to attend, please contact michelle@unitedwaynemn.org as there are other veterans on a wait list at this time.

Where: Hibbing Rifle and Trap Club (3946 Marksmanship Center Rd., Hibbing MN 55746)
Details: Local veterans and service members are invited to free target shooting at the Hibbing Rifle/Pistol Club. Participants will be responsible for bringing their own firearm and ammunition. A meal will be provided, and spectators are welcome!

Details: Local veterans, service members, and family members are invited to join United for Veterans for a Warriors Hockey Game.

Where: Sugar Lake Lodge (37584 Oti Lane, Cohasset MN)
Details: Veterans are encouraged to come as individuals, bring a significant other, or bring their family to this low-cost retreat to connect with people with shared life experiences from across the region.
