Thank you for your interest in Step Into School, a partnership between United Way of Northeastern Minnesota, Backus Community Center, and Ronnings. This year's event will  be held August 12th.

Applications are due July 24, 2026. Selected participants will be contacted by July 30, 2026.
 
To qualify:
•    Students must be K-12 and enrolled in a Koochiching County school or homeschooled within Koochiching County with proof of residency for the 2026-2027 school year. 
•     Households must be under the ALICE (Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) guidelines. 

Disclaimer: If your household income exceeds the listed eligibility limits, but you are experiencing an extenuating circumstance, you are still welcome to submit an application for review. All applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Submission of an application does not guarantee funding or support. All requests are subject to review, available resources, and program eligibility criteria.
