Rock Ridge Public Schools (RRPS)’ Career Academies recently received a $10,000 boost from United Way. 

United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN) gathered with United Ways across the state and other leaders at the State Capitol Tuesday to unveil a new report,  “ALICE in Minnesota: A Study of Financial Hardship” from United Ways of Minnesota and their research partner, United For ALICE.

Local donors, businesses, foundations, and organizations united to raise more than $95,000 for United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN)’s Flood Recovery Program – all of which has now been allocated to local residents impacted by June’s flooding and water damage.

UWNEMN is often the first place local people look when they need help.

It’s not often we, who make our living with words and pictures, are at a loss for words. But we were left in awe of what we witnessed at last week’s Step Into School event, which began at Backus Community Center with dinner and culminated with special rides to Ronnings to shop for shoes.

As communities across the state continue to clean up and repair from June’s flooding, United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN) is offering financial support to households in its service area to assist as they recover from the disaster.

Fifty local children are invited to a back-to-school celebration August 7^th that will send them home with new properly fit athletic shoes of their choosing.

UWNEMN’s fourth annual Renegade Trail Run will be held Saturday June 29 at Redhead Mountain Bike Park in Chisholm.
