Volunteers are at the heart of so much of United Way of Northeastern Minnesota’s work. As board president, I see firsthand how giving even a small amount of time can make a meaningful difference in our communities.
As the school year begins, I encourage you to consider volunteering with Buddy Backpacks, helping pack weekend meal kits for local children - or becoming a Lunch Buddies mentor, providing a student with an additional positive adult role model throughout the year.
My wife works in the schools, and I hear each fall how needed these programs are. If you’ve been curious about getting involved with these programs, here’s your sign!
Our programs aren’t the only ones that rely on volunteers this time of year.
That’s exactly why our online Volunteer Center connects community members with opportunities with our organization, our partners, and any other group who could use an extra hand, making it easy to find a way to give back that fits your interests and schedule.
If you’re not an “internet person,” give Emily a call at 218-215-2425!
Whether you give a few hours or make an ongoing commitment, your time matters.
Our communities are stronger because of those who choose to show up and give back.
