United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN)’s no-cost training for local volunteer boards and booster clubs is back, and the organization is kicking off the new year with the #1 requested topic from previous attendees: fundraising.

UWNEMN’s newest Lead Local training, Fundraising That Works, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday March 9th at Minnesota North College Hibbing campus. Speaker Chris Fastner, True North Strategy partner and consultant, will share tips, tricks, and tactics gleaned over his 40+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector.
Lead Local trainings are open to any volunteer serving on a board of directors, booster, club, or parent-teacher organization serving the Iron Range, Koochiching County, or Lake of the Woods County.

“We know firsthand that volunteers are the heartbeat of our communities,” said UWNEMN Executive Director Erin Shay. “It’s important to us that the volunteers who make so much local programming possible are well-equipped and have all the tools they need to do so.”

Register for Lead Local: Fundraising That Works by February 27, 2026.
