Volunteers lent their talent on Friday to creating a new opportunity for kids to learn, while walking along the lakewalk adjacent to the Lake Park by Longyear Lake in Chisholm.

The United Way of Northeastern Minnesota facilitated the creation of what is known as a Born Learning Trail.

Volunteers for the project were a mix of sponsors and student council members. Signs were purchased with support from the Chisholm Community Foundation, Chisholm Lions Club, Kiwanis Club of Chisholm, and Park State Bank, according to Sarah Gardeski, UWNEMN Education and Childhood Program Specialist.
