Read for the Record

What is Read for the Record?
UWNEMN is participating in Jumpstart's Read for the Record in 2018 for the second year in a row!  This is the world's largest shared reading experience - bringing together over 2 million people each year in classrooms, libraries, community centers, and homes across the US.  This annual campaign was launched over a decade ago to highlight the importance of building early literacy and language skills for EVERY child.  UWNEMN will bring volunteers into local classrooms and libraries to read to children on October 25th - making our local participation part of the record!

About the book!
Maybe Something Beautiful  reveals how art can inspire transformation - and how even the smallest artists can accomplish something big. Pick up a paintbrush and join the celebration! "In the heart of a gray city, there lived a girl who loved to doodle, draw, color, and paint." Young Mira looks at the world and sees a canvas - and she spreads her love for art making by gifting her paitning to the people she encounters on the streets.

We Need Volunteers!
