United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN) and Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) have once again partnered with to bring a free food distribution to Chisholm Thursday August 6th.

THERE ARE NO INCOME REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS FREE CONTACTLESS PICKUP.

Anyone interested is welcome to drive to UWNEMN's building (608 East Drive, Chisholm MN) to take home a box of frozen bbq patties and frozen cheese.

Distribution starts at 2 pm and lasts as long as supplies are available; first come, first served.

On July 24^th, Eveleth Elks Lodge members presented the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) & the current resident of United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN)’s transitional home for veterans with a donation of Walmart gift cards, Holiday Gas gift cards, Super One Foods gift cards, and “move-in” baskets full of essentials.

Early literacy is a targeted issue for UWNEMN, and with COVID-19 precautions keeping more children at home than normal and cancelling the organization's summer reading events, UWNEMN board members wanted to get creative to celebrate reading with local children.

United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN)’s children’s dental program, Smiles United, will resume services July 1^st after being on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Uninsured and under-insured children will once again be able to receive free and reduced-cost dental care at UWNEMN’s building in Chisholm this summer through the program, which UWNEMN operates in partnership with Children’s Dental Services. In 2019, Smiles United served more than 1,600 patients in UWNEMN’s service territory.

We are experiencing a time of immense global change – arguably the greatest this generation has ever seen.  There is a heightened awareness of community needs and an emerging urgency to unite to rebuild and strengthen our communities.  The changes are seen and felt in every minute of every day as we think about the uncertainty of the future.

Free summer lunch will once again be available to children ages 1-18 across the region this summer thanks to United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN)’s Meet Up and Chow Down program.
