 What's New With The United Way?

 
Diaper Drive - Donations Needed for Local Diaper Bank
 
United Way of Northeastern Minnesota is partnering with the Salvation Army in Hibbing and Virginia to conduct an Iron Range-wide Diaper Drive.  The Diaper Drive will take place from May 11th-27th, with many local businesses participating as drop-off sites.  Click here for more information.
 
Flavor of the North Brings Big Results
 
More than 280 people attended the 3rd annual Flavor of the North event on April 19th, which raised a record-breaking $31,700.  All proceeds benefit Iron Range children enrolled in our Buddy Backpack program.  Additional event results can be found on our Flavor of the North site.  
 
BayView Blast and Arctic Splash
 
On Saturday, February 25th, a record-breaking $38,558 was raised during the BayView Blast and Arctic Splash, with more than $13,000 raised through the Splash!  Photos from the Arctic Splash can be viewed here. You can also view a video showing the event in action at http://arcticsplash.unitedwaynemn.org/. All proceeds will benefit the UWNEMN's youth programs.  
 
Power of the Purse Huge Success!
 
Over 190 women got out their best denim and diamond bling to show their support for the 6th Annual Power of the Purse. A record breaking $21,188 was raised and will go to support the United Way of NEMN's Smiles Dental program that provides preventative dental care including cleaning, flouride treatment and sealants to uninsured or underinsured youth by way of a mobile dental unit in all schools here on the Iron Range.
