September 1st, 2008 - Imagination Library Fundraiser
United Way of NE MN has a new initiative to get books into the hands of ALL children ages 0-5 in our area and you can help!

Through our new program called “Imagination Library”, all children, regardless of income, are eligible to receive an age appropriate book each month at their home for them to keep. If enrolled at birth, by age five they will have a library of 60 books just for them. Through our partnership with the Dolly Parton Foundation who created “Imagination Library” we are able to deliver those books monthly for a cost of $35 per year.

Starting Tuesday, September 2nd area grocery stores and banks will help us to reach individuals we can’t through our traditional fundraising methods, by asking them to donate to Imagination Library.

There are currently just under 1,000 children enrolled with the potential for 2,800 more to sign-up. Not only will this fundraiser raise extra dollars for the cost of books, but we hope it will bring awareness so more children can benefit from this free program.
