United Way of Northeastern Minnesota presents

Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities

This free two-day community workshop will take place on June 4th and 5th from 8:00am to 3:00pm at the Mountain Iron Community Center.
June 4th will be the original Bridges Out of Poverty workshop and June 5th will be advanced training.  You are welcome to participate in both days; or if you've already completed the original training, you can participate in the second day only.

The Bridges Out of Poverty workshop provides both the social service provider and the community member key lessons in dealing with individuals from poverty.  Topics include increasing awareness of the differences in economic cultures and how those differences affect opportunities for success.

This workshop is based on the book Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities, a collaboration between Ruby K. Payne, Phillip DeVol, and Terie Dreussi Smith.  This workshop is designed for employers, community organizations, law enforcement, counselors, health care and social service providers.

The presenter for both days will be Jodi Pfarr.
