United Way - Kooch County Cruise

2nd Annual “Kooch County Cruise” a success!

The second annual Kooch County Cruise was extremely successful raising $10,000 for Koochiching County Area United Way agencies and program.

Registration began at 9:00 with the first 100 riders getting the black with orange and white commemorative t-shirt. Riders rolled in from the Koochiching County area, the Iron Range as well as Canada. Leaving on schedule the ride covered a 115 mile area with stops at Mel's Corner in Littlefork, the Big Falls park, and the Y-Knot in Pelland.

Timber Pins provided the meal upon return of the riders with the band Johnny Green and the Greenmen to party to after the ride. New this year was a raffle for a scooter with the winning ticket being drawn that evening at Timberpins. The winner was Russ Nagle.

This ride was started by a group of local riders who after participating for several years in a successful UW ride on the Iron Range wanted to do the same thing for UW agencies in Koochiching County. A volunteer committee was formed of riders and non-riders who felt they could create a great event that could be enjoyed in the Border area and help people in need. They are already planning for next year's ride! Thanks so much for your participation!
