United Youth for United Way

"To aid youth of the Iron Range with a focus on

helping them achieve a better future."

The UYUW board was formed to be a model of UW teaching youth members about charitable giving, needs in the community, how to read applications requesting funds, how to make the tough decisions regarding who gets funding, and how to raise funds to support the programs.  All funding is focused on youth programs.
  • Support youth in developing voluntary and cooperative projects under the principles of United Way that benefit others in the community, have clear goals, and measurable success.
  • Increase the awareness of the positive results of engaging youth as leaders and decision makers, while highlighting the invaluable contribution they make to local communities.
  • Increase the leadership skills of youth

The United Youth for United Way is a board made up of students from ten area high schools /colleges who review applications and distribute funds to programs specifically supporting youth. For an application please call 218-254-3329.
